New Year Sail To (or from) London

What a great way to begin the New Year!

If you are a hardy sailor with good experience and qualified from RYA Competent Crew to RYA Yachtmaster level (and beyond), this New Year sailing opportunity is really exciting!

It is a great opportunity to gain some excellent sailing experience beyond the shelter of the Solent - in January! A great New Year challenge. Sailing into and out of the River Thames and amongst the sights of London is very special!

Sail under the QE2 Bridge, past the 2012 Olympic venue, the O2 building and negotiate the Thames Barrier all the way to London Bridge to/from Limehouse Marina which is easily accessible from the Docklands Light Railway.

For the sail to London, we depart early on Monday morning (2nd January 2012) from Gosport and we aim to sail non stop (or make just one stop) to London, arriving on the 4 or 5th January.

The return passage will depart from London on 16th January 2012 and we aim to be back in Gosport by Wednesday or Thursday (18th or 19th). The return passage includes a ticket for the London Boat Show- final day on Sunday 15th January!

Spaces are limited and are on a first come, first to sail in 2012 basis!

The final destination for this trip is weather dependent. If the wind is unsuitable, we may have to ammend the itinerary and dates slightly. We will keep you fully informed and give you details a week before departure.

What is included?

The cost of your New Year Sail to or from London includes:

Your accommodation on board your yacht throughout
Return passage includes a ticket for the London Boat Show

Your homemade cooked food throughout, while sailing!
All diets catered for!
Free use of sailing waterproofs (if needed) to keep you warm and dry
Use of safety gear (life jacket and safety harness) free of charge
Free parking at our marina

We eat ashore if/when we stop so that everyone can stretch their legs (this cost is not included).

The only additional cost is a proportion of mooring fees which are split between those aboard. These vary between nil- £5 per night depending on where we stay.

Upon booking you will receive your Joining Instructions which provide a suggested list of what to bring.

Your Joining Instructions will also detail where to find us. We sail from Royal Clarence Marina in Gosport which is easily accessed by road (it is 20 minutes from the M27 at Fareham) or by direct train from waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour.
