This is a great ‘hands on’ practical course if you are a beginner or fairly new to sailing with no formal qualifications .

The RYA Competent Crew Course teaches you the basic principles of sailing, as well as personal safety, to enable you to become an invaluable crew member.

The course can be completed either over five consecutive days or over a two and three day weekend.

We run this popular RYA Sailing Course throughout the year from our base at Royal Clarence Marina in Gosport which is easily accessible by direct train from London Waterloo into Portsmouth Harbour, or by road. We are 15 minutes from the M27 motorway (junction 9) and parking at our marina is free!

The cost of our courses includes your accommodation aboard your yacht, home cooked breakfasts and lunches (all diets catered for) and drinks (non alcoholic). You can borrow waterproofs if required, free of charge.

Evening meals are not included, although you may cook aboard if you wish.

A proportion of mooring fees (split between those aboard) are your only additional expense.

On successful completion of the RYA Competent Crew course, your Instructor will sign your logbook to enable you to keep a record of your sea miles and syllabus completed.

You will also receive an official RYA Certificate.
