Day Skipper ++ Weekends

If you are qualified from RYA Day Skipper to RYA Yachtmaster and beyond and want an opportunity to practise skills learnt during your formal training, then this is the weekend for you!

Most qualified RYA Day Skippers/RYA Coastal Skippers and RYA Yachtmasters find little opportunity to refresh and build on exisiting experience and competencies - unless you are fortunate enough to have your own boat!

This weekend provides an informal opportunity for you to practise your skills under the discreet guidance of one of our RYA Instructors.

Your Day Skipper++ Weekend will fous on sailing elements such as:

Sail trim and points of sail
Practising manoeuvres under sail e.g. picking up mooring buoys and anchoring
Navigation and pilotage
Use of chart plotter and radar
Man overboard recovery techniques under sail and power
Opportunity for you to practise your skippering and decision making

What is included?

The cost of your Day Skipper++ weekend includes:

Your accommodation on board your yacht throughout
Your breakfasts, homemade cooked lunches and our now famous cake!
All diets catered for!
Free use of sailing waterproofs (if needed) to keep you warm and dry
Use of safety gear (life jacket and safety harness) free of charge
Free parking at our marina

We eat ashore in the evenings so that everyone can stretch their legs (this cost is not included).

The only additional cost is a proportion of mooring fees which are split between those aboard. These vary between nil- £5 per night depending on where we stay.

Upon booking you will receive your Joining Instructions which provide a suggested list of what to bring.

We sail from Royal Clarence Marina in Gosport which is easily accessed by road (it is 20 minutes from the M27 at Fareham) or by direct train to from waterloo to Portsmouth Harbour.
